What is Franchising?

Franchising is a way for people to be in business for themselves but not by themselves. When you buy a franchise you are buying the rights to operate a business under an established brand name using an established business system or format. It enables independent business owners to be part of a network that works together in a defined way to provide goods or services to customers. In business format franchising the franchisor prescribes the operating format for the business, and takes responsibility for managing and developing the franchise network. The franchisee receives access to the franchisor’s system and brand, and the right to use intellectual property such as trade marks, business and operating systems and procedures, copyright materials and know how in the business.

  1. Access to an Existing and Proven Business Model. A franchise system provides immediate access to an established and proven business system.

What does it cost?

Initial Cost. The approximate cost to start a My Name Label franchise is AUS $80,000 - $90,000. This cost includes equipment, computers, legal fees, office requirements, brochure printing, launch advertising, training, franchise fee etc. If any of these requirements already exist the set up costs may be reduced.

Ongoing Costs. My Name Label franchisees are responsible for all operating expenses of their business as well as an ongoing royalty fee of 8% of gross sales per month. The royalty fee is payment for the continued use of the My Name Label trademarks, design, management support, manuals and product design and development.

If the application proceeds it will be necessary for you to sign a confidentiality agreement and for My Name Label to provide you with a Disclosure Document.
